Stokes' Nomination accepted (7/20/2010)

Latest: Returning Officer of the Hockey India election has accepted the nomination of Vidhya Stokes,who by virtue of being above 70 is, as per government's guidelines, is ineligible to contest.

Meanwhile, RO has rejected the nomination of K. Krishnamurthy for the Secretary Post as he is 'not in the 'electoral college'. Meanwhile Nambiar of Air India has been elected unopposed the Joint Secretary of the Hockey India.

It is gathered that Hockey India has informed the RO that they will not take government assistance so that they will not be bound by the government guidelines.
