Shastri Tournament Society to stage a Women International (9/17/2007)

The Delhi based Lal Bahadur Shastri Tournament Society, which has been conducting an all India tournament in the capital since about 20 years, will be organizing an international tournament this year. It is for the first time the Society is venturing in to women's domain. And that is for good.

Four women teams, Italy, Uzbekistan, Malaysia, besides India, have confirmed their entry. The Shastri Cup for men will be held in the first week of November, while each day the last match is proposed to be for the Women’s.

Shastri Cup is one of the three major Grade I domestic annual tournaments held in Delhi. Shastri Cup usually attracts good crowd and well managed.
