Rs. 10-lac prize money Obaidullah Tournament starts today in Bhopal

Thanks to Madhya Pradesh Government, the vintage Obaidullah Khan Gold Cup has become the top prize money tournament of India.

With winners purse of Rs. 5 lac, runners up Rs. 3 lac and the third Prize Rs 2 lac, the Obaidullah Cup has commenced in Bhopal today.

Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chauhan was present on the opening match today.

The tournament is played on knock out basis.

With about Rs. 5 lac as prize money in each Nehru Senior Cup and Junior Cup were so far the top billed prize money domestic tournaments in India.

Obaidullah Cup, renewed with vigour this year, is played on the historic Aisbagh stadium, located in the heart of the hockey conscious city.

Next tournament on the anvil is Bombay Gold Cup that starts in the first week of Next month in Mumbai Mahindra Hockey stadium.
