PSPB honored hockey players (10/22/2009)

The Petroleum Sports Promotion Board, on its 9th annual award function, held at Delhi, felicitated many hockey players for the year 2007-08 & 2008-09.

Prabhjot Singh was named Meritorious Elite Sports Person of the Year for 2007-08, while Rajpal Singh and Tushar Khandekar were declared Meritorious Sports Persons for the same year.

For the year 2008-09, no hockey player was named in the Elite category but V. Raghunath and Baljeet Singh were declared Meritorious Sports Persons for the year. Ex-goalkeeper Romeo Keeper got the Lifetime Achievement Award.

The function was a bit lusterless as many awardees were not present because of the ongoing series.
