Pool B: Air India 0 drew with BPCL 0.

In the first match of the second day much fancied teams – Air India and Bharat Petroleum Corporation did produce even a token goal while, as if to make amends, goals reigned in the second and last match at the Mayor Radhakrishnan Stadium, Chennai. Mumbai XI edged Karnataka XI 5-4 which kept the crowd clued to the field.

Not withstanding great efforts, the Karnataka team had to be on the losing side. Sandeep Michael, who normally plays for the Indian Airlines, scored a brace but the forwards on the rival side, Rehman in particular had other ideas. They forced three penalty corners and converted all of them without fuss.

Day three will witness three matches.
