Mother of Olympian Surjit Singh dies (6/27/2008)

Tuesday, June 24, 2008: President, Surjit Hockey Society president Ajeet Singh Pannu, IAS, Deputy Commissiioner, Jalandhar and Secretary Iqbal Singh Sandhu, PCS, Sub Divisional Magistrate, Gurdaspur and other members of the Surjit Hockey Society have condoled the sad demise of Mrs. Joginder Kaur Randhawa, mother of former Indian captain Olympian Surjit Singh. She died in Jalandhar last night.

The Surjit Hockey Society, Jalandhar prayed for the departed soul to the Almighty God and for the family to bear this irreparable loss with courage and fortitude. Punjab Sports Director Padamshree Pargat Singh expressed deep shock on the death of Mrs Joginder Randhawa.

it is worthwhile to mention here that the Surjit Society has been honouring the mother with purse during theier annual tournaments.
