Lyallpur Khalsa College Jalandhar beat JLN College Bhopal 2-0 to win the 17TH SAIL Nehru Champion Colleges Hockey tournament.

Gagandeep Singh took lead in the 27th minute, which was doubled by Ajay Kumar in the last moments (68th minute) for this one-sided win.

Gurvinder Singh was declared man of the match and got Rs 10,000/- as prize money while his team got Rs 96000/- and the runner-up team got Rs 64000/-

In the third place match, SGS College Chandigarh beat Desh Bhagat College Patiala 3-1 and finished third in the 8-day tournament.

Deepanshu opened the scoring in 31st minute to get Patiala 1-0 lead. But just two minutes into the second half, Rupinder Pal Singh & Harinder Singh made it 2-1 for Chandigarh. Mukul Bhargav made it 3-1 in the 58th minute and sealed the match.

Harinder Singh was adjudged man of the match, and his team got Rs 32000/- for finishing third.

Mrs. Yashodhra Raje Scindhia, M.P., was the chief guest, and distributed the prizes.
