India was fortunate to snatch a point in their inaugural match on the Day One of the Commonwealth games from the fighting Scotland.

Jasjeet Kaur retireived some prestige for India in the second half with a stunner of a reverse hand shot to equlize the third minute lead taken by Scotland. India thus managed to draw Scotland 1-1.

Utilizing the unsettled Indians, Scotland surged with a lead in the thrid minute with a perfect mid-circle cracker from Holly Cram.

Scotland could have lodged further lead but for a couple of heart-breaking save from Indian defence, where Binita Toppo stood like a rock.

On resumtion, Jasjeet kaur tapped a pass from Chancal and with a firm reverse hand pumped the equalizer.

India got a couple of penalty corners, first Subhadra and then Jasjeet negotiated with no fruitful result.
